Event: Run & Plunge — Cold Plunge Experience by Kalm Studio Date: April 18, 2026 Location: Alexandria, Virginia

1. Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk

I understand that I am voluntarily participating in cold water immersion (cold plunge / ice bath) provided by Kalm Studio. I acknowledge that cold water immersion carries inherent and significant risks, including but not limited to:

• Cold shock response and involuntary gasping

• Hyperventilation and loss of breath control

• Cardiac arrhythmia, heart attack, or stroke

• Dangerous spikes in blood pressure

• Hypothermia and after-drop

• Fainting, dizziness, or loss of consciousness

• Slips, falls, or injury entering or exiting the plunge

• Nerve damage, frostbite, or skin injury

• Aggravation of pre-existing conditions

• In rare cases, serious injury or death

I understand these risks cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken by Kalm Studio, and I voluntarily assume all such risks, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen.

2. Medical Representation and Fitness to Participate

I confirm that I am physically and medically fit to participate in cold water immersion. I specifically confirm that I do NOT have any of the following conditions, OR I have obtained written clearance from a licensed physician to participate:

• Heart disease, cardiovascular disease, or history of cardiac events

• High or uncontrolled blood pressure

• Raynaud's disease or circulatory disorders

• Seizure disorders or epilepsy

• Pregnancy

• Recent surgery or open wounds

• Cold urticaria or cold-induced allergies

• Any respiratory condition that could be aggravated by cold exposure

I acknowledge that Kalm Studio, its owners, staff, and contractors are NOT medical professionals and are not qualified to assess my fitness to participate. The decision to participate is mine alone.

3. Agreement to Follow Instructions

I agree to follow all instructions provided by Kalm Studio staff and to immediately exit the cold plunge if I experience any distress, dizziness, chest pain, numbness beyond normal cold sensation, or any other warning signs. I agree not to participate if I am under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs judgment.

4. Release of Liability and Covenant Not to Sue

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, and personal representatives, hereby RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE Kalm Studio, its owners, officers, directors, members, managers, employees, instructors, contractors, volunteers, agents, venue hosts, event partners, and affiliates (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death sustained by me during or as a result of my participation in this event — including claims arising from the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by Virginia law.

5. Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or cost, including attorney's fees, they may incur arising out of my participation.

6. Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts located in Alexandria, Virginia. If any provision of this waiver is held invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

7. Media Release

I grant Kalm Studio permission to use photographs, video, and audio recordings taken of me during the event for marketing, promotional, and social media purposes, without compensation.

9. Acknowledgment

I have read this waiver in full. I understand that by signing, I am giving up substantial legal rights, including the right to sue Kalm Studio and the Released Parties. I sign this waiver freely and voluntarily.
